No one ever really considers Ramses' point of view during all of this. He is singing from his perspective as he talks to his natural father who is dead. The video seems to be depicting a father that is also passed on as Brian singing it to him wishing he was there for advice and counsel. It is very well written, sung, and is just interesting from A to Z.

it is most likely like the screwtape letters. that is written by a Christian from the perspective of a devil. he is just playing devil's advocate to make a point.

This song is for the movie "Prince of Egypt". It's sung by the Pharaoh who is singing to his FATHER, the previous Pharaoh about what he should do concerning the people of Israel. They ended up not using it in the final cut of the movie. It's not meant to be a christian song.

I just read your post, tho I don't know where you stand I definitely don't agree with the message of this song and it surprises me a bit that Bryan wrote those words contrary to my notion that he's a believer as with all his colleagues from Take 6. 'Actions speak louder than words' and his frequent 'devil's horn hand-sign' is so telling. What happened to this guy? Sell your soul in exchange for fame and wealth? And the 'speak to Moses set MY people', what people? Afrocentric nuances. Shucks.

Wow. Everyone has to be a judge. Have you not learned anything? There is only ONE JUDGE. St. Matthew 7:1-3 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

I saw the horns he made with his hands but dang there's a lot of emphasis on him doing that...I can't say that he's doing it to represent the devil...or if he just feels cool and moves his hands in certain shapes lol just take it easy pray that all is well and let God do the judging with the uncertainty we witness in life. Remember we want salvation for all a good believer only looks for that alone in others...jmp
